City of Lusaka return home to Woodlands Stadium this Sunday April 4th to play Mpulungu Harbour in game week 22 of the Eden University National First Division.
After a week off for international fixtures, Yamoto are back in action with a 3pm kick off.
In game week 21, City were beaten 1-0 away from home to Chambishi, while Mpulungu suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Trident.
Yamoto are currently 5th in the league table, level on points with Chambishi in fourth with 35. Rivals Nchnaga Rangers occupy sixth with 32.
Travelling team Mpulungu sit in 14th with 21 points, the same as Police College in the relegation zone below them. They have won only four games this season and have scored just 12 goals in total.
Without a win in the last two games, Yamoto go into this fixture strong favourites and look to pick up three valuable points in order to continue the push for promotion.
Back on home turf, City should look to capitalise on Mpulungu’s poor goal difference of minus 12, which is the fourth worst in the league.
The last time the two teams met was in game week five (November 2020) and Yamoto came out on top 2-0 winners through a Lubinda Mundia goal and a Mpulungu own goal.
Fourth placed Chambishi play tenth placed Mufulira Wanderers away from home.
Nchanga Rangers face 17th placed Kashikishi Warriors and can also draw level on points with City if results go their way.
With just 13 games left of the domestic season, securing three points against a struggling Mpulungu side will be crucial to get back on the right track and fight back into the top four.
