Yamoto Pushing Files!

The boys are motivated and are one win away from qualifying to the Eden University National Division One League.
Yamoto, as the club is famously known among its faithful, have done well so far at the on-going FAZ National Division One playoffs at Miller Ground and Lilayi Police College respectively in Lusaka.
.
The George Kapembwa coached side has collected six points from two games that Yamoto, has played.
The team has scored four goals and veteran goalkeeper Joe Phiri is yet to pick a ball behind his net. What an incredible run.

“We have done nothing yet. Yes, we have won our two opening games which is very important but the ultimate goal is to make the owners and sponsors of the club happy by qualifying to the National Division One League next year,” Kapembwa, told the club media team yesterday.
.
Striker Charles Katongo and midfielder Francis Banda scored against Malalo Police on Tuesday while Stephan Phiri and Harry Milanzi Jr put the ball behind the net against Blessings Academy. Yamoto overcame hapless Northern Province representatives Malalo Police in the opening fixture 2-0 before demolishing Central Province outfit Blessings Academy by the same score line. Despite missing the services of skipper and defender Anthony Moyo, who was red carded in the game against Malalo, his replacement Joshua Botha combined well with Tudor Chisanga at the back.

We are playing Petauke United tomorrow (today). The players know what we want. We are not going to underrate them. They have good players and are taller than our players but we have a strategy on how to collect all the three points. We respect them but we are not afraid of them,” Kapembwa said.
.
Games between City of Lusaka and Petauka are unpredictable. Two seasons ago Yamoto hosted the Eastern Province side at Woodlands Stadium in a league fixture and the two teams drew one all, with the coaches insulting each other and in the return leg the two teams played to another entertaining 1-1 draw, but some City players and officials were attacked by the home fans.
.
City will take on Southern Province side Livingstone Pirates in the last game of Group A tomorrow (Friday).
Yamoto are on Top of Group A with six points. Pirates have the same number of points as Yamoto but are in second position on goal difference. Petauke United and Malole have three points each while Blessings are at the basement of the table with zero points.

City of Lusaka were demoted from the Super Division on October 17, 2017.
